Bachelor in Computer Science, Universidad de la República (UdelaR). I have experience in software development, UNIX administration and support, networking and security.
I have been sysadmin for medium-large networks (Facultad de Ingeniería, UdelaR and Consejo de Educación Secundaria), support provider and 2nd tier support for local and international corporations (Arnaldo C. Castro S.A.), information security consultant (Dirección General de Registros) and IT Manager (Tilsor S.A.).
I have taught UNIX and C/C++ at Facultad de Ingeniería (UdelaR) and Universitario Autónomo del Sur respectively.
This broad experience helped me achieve the skills to resolve complex technical problems as well as the ability to plan and execute projects for large organizations.
I’m founding member of CeibalJAM!, an NGO created to help improve Plan Ceibal (OLPC in Uruguay) by developing software for the OLPC laptops focused in local needs and culture. Join us! Most people speak English in the group.
But life’s more than computer science! That’s why I also like to practice sports, sing in a choir (“Con Esa Voz”), learn a foreign language, travel with a few things and no planning, meet old good friends at Facebook… Damn, we’re back to computers again
